Cardiac biomarkers not only have played an essential role in the diagnosis of myocardial disease, but also they can be used for the purpose of risk stratification of
cardiovascular disease in asymptomatic patients. Recently international guidelines show expanded indications of cardiac biomarkers for non-cardiac surgery and diabetic patients.
